Soutache cords are woven from rayon or synthetic fibers threads (in past they used silk, wool or metallic bullion thread). It was a standard application on clothes to indicate rank in military uniforms and to outline numbers or players' names. I’ve even found soutache cords used to decorate a picture in a church. By connecting soutache cords with stones and beads I create my jewelry. I make every item by sewing up all the components together.
My last piece was gold and navy blue earrings. It was made on special order. I used Swarovski rivoli crystal (it is my favorite component), Swarovski pearls and TOHO beads.

Preparing for
production. It is still just a mess but by spreading out the cords and beads, I
check the harmony of the colors.
When I pick
up the needle, I am like a ghost for a couple of days, as embroidering takes up
every minute of my free time. I’m going to post the pictures of my work step by
step but it is so hard for me to stop my activity for a minute to take a photo.
